‘Never Odd Or Even’- Super Secret Band

“Never odd or Even” is a self produced 5 track EP featuring a cast of Portland’s finest Rock, Jazz, and Funk musicians. It was recorded at Super Secret Studios in the early 2020’s.

The Band’s funky instrumental rock core is seasoned with elements of psychedelia, prog, jam, jazz, hip hop, and blues. The album features the Portland legend Tyrone Hendrix (Prince,Quick and Easy Boys, Etc.) on drums who lays down an undeniable pocket for the title track “Never Odd Or Even”, and Dylan Campbell energizes the rest of the album on drums. Bassist Kody Kindhart fills out the rhythm section with a mix of slap bass, driving supportive bass-lines and beautiful melodies highlighted by a bass solo towards the end of “fliP floppeD.”

Guitarist Josh Wiley Marks covers a range of sounds on this album from soulful leads on “Tootsie Time” to spacey textures on Mt Kay Bird, to straight up dark and scary diminished shreds on “2011 Gila Wizard”. Nick Allison soars over “Mt. Kay Bird '' and “Never Odd Or Even” on his self made Stratocaster, and also penned the first track “Tootsie Time” for the project.

The bands rockin' sounds are complimented with a taste of Jazz and Funk from keyboardist Devon Dipaolo (New Dew) and the horn section made up of Trombonist Jeff Chilton (Jay Si Proof), and Matt Sullikowski of (Matt’s Big Bad Swing Band) on Saxophone and Flute.

The band is rounded out by producer and multi Instrumentalist Brill Ritter contributing guitar, keyboard, and trumpet to the album.
